An Afternoon with Santa

You better watch out, you better not cry…well, some cried.  But most of us had a terrific time with our very own Jolly Old Elf!  I believe all of these little ones made his “Nice” list, and I know that all the folks who worked so hard to make this event a success certainly made mine, especially Santa himself.  Thanks to all of you, and to all the parents and grandparents who shared their photo-op time with me.  I hope you enjoy the results!  I am blessed to live in such a wonderful community.  If you are interested in a disk of your pictures, please email using the contact page and refer to the specific photo numbers.

Merry Christmas to all!

Happy Halloween!

Plenty of ghouls and goblins turned out for our neighborhood Halloween festivities!  I had a great time shooting this costumed carnival.  Everyone looked phantastic!  Winner of the evening (at least in my completely unofficial opinion) was the pint-sized zombie bride.  Spooktacular!  Enjoy!

I’m Baaaaaaa-aack

So, as it turns out, a cross-country move necessitates a bit of a hiatus from the rest of your life.  Not that I expected that hiatus to last this long – or that it’s a bad thing.  On the contrary, I am thrilled to report my family’s relocation to beautiful Marietta, Georgia.  We love it here!  But having had the better part of a year off  – finishing work for clients in Kansas, traveling to Georgia to find a home, selling our house in Kansas, packing, unpacking, redecorating, finding new schools (and doctors and dentists and orthodontists), making new friends and keeping in touch with old ones – ok, maybe it hasn’t really been time “off”- I am more than ready to jump back in!

Time for some new clients, new locations, new ideas!  I’ve simplified some of my session details (making things easier for everybody) and I’ve been scouting out good ‘”shoot spots” in my new neck of the woods.  There are so many that choosing just one will be a challenge.  I’m glad I let the client pick!

In the meantime I’ve been keeping fresh by aiming the camera at my kids and doing a little work for family and friends.  Here’s a sample of what I’ve been up to:

So, new neighbors, who’s up for it?  I can’t wait to start making new memories – and helping new friends capture theirs.

Lovely Ladies

I had the best time on this shoot!  Of course, that may be because it was so easy – I mean, just look at what I had to work with.  Who could take a bad picture of such spectacularly gorgeous women?  Can you say “Modeling Contract?”  I think you can!

But believe it or not what really made the day was not their physical beauty – which is obvious – but their genuine love for and enjoyment of each other.  These sisters truly like each other and clearly adore their mom.

I didn’t pose them so much as point my camera at the moments happening in front of me.  We laughed a LOT.  They were silly and sweet and a joy to be around.  It was wonderful to capture.

"I could kick your butt." "I could let her."

We took these pictures as a Christmas surprise for the head of this happy family.  Sir, if you are reading this, you are a man blessed beyond words.  Your wife and daughters are a treasure, as I am sure you know.  I hope you liked your gift!

And if anyone is not sure about that modeling idea, just check out Miss Brown-Eyed Girl getting her groove on:

I rest my case.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Christmas is a time for trimming trees,

For cookies and conversations,

For snowmen and singalongs and Santa hats,

For families and fun,

For remembering the miracle of the manger, and the love that lights the world.

Merry Christmas, everybody!

God bless us, every one.
