I had the best time on this shoot! Of course, that may be because it was so easy – I mean, just look at what I had to work with. Who could take a bad picture of such spectacularly gorgeous women? Can you say “Modeling Contract?” I think you can!

But believe it or not what really made the day was not their physical beauty – which is obvious – but their genuine love for and enjoyment of each other. These sisters truly like each other and clearly adore their mom.

I didn’t pose them so much as point my camera at the moments happening in front of me. We laughed a LOT. They were silly and sweet and a joy to be around. It was wonderful to capture.

We took these pictures as a Christmas surprise for the head of this happy family. Sir, if you are reading this, you are a man blessed beyond words. Your wife and daughters are a treasure, as I am sure you know. I hope you liked your gift!

And if anyone is not sure about that modeling idea, just check out Miss Brown-Eyed Girl getting her groove on:

I rest my case.

Christmas is a time for trimming trees,

For cookies and conversations,

For snowmen and singalongs and Santa hats,

For families and fun,

For remembering the miracle of the manger, and the love that lights the world.

Merry Christmas, everybody!
God bless us, every one.

I missed your bridal shower today. I so wish I could’ve been there. I thought about you all day, and remembered how much fun we had taking your engagement pictures with a big smile on my face. Looking at them makes me so happy and excited for you! You and Kyle are such a terrific couple, it was easy to get a great shot of you:

Of course, we had a pretty fabulous location to work with, and your sense of humor kept us laughing:

I know you’ve found the right guy, it’s simple to see how much he loves you, and your joy is written all over your beautiful face.

So congratulations, sweetheart, and don’t worry, I wouldn’t miss the wedding for the world.
Love, Amy
p.s. your gift is in the mail!

These little ladies were busier than me, and y’all, that is saying something. I thought my kids were a handful, but they’re nothing compared to twins. Still, double the work also means double the fun, and I had an absolute ball watching them explore!

My little blonde friend was curious about my camera and so kept stopping to look at me – which made it easier to get the shot. Check out her gorgeous baby blues:

Not so my sister redhead…no ma’am I do NOT have time to pose for you! There is way too much to do here!

Now, their mama has four girls, and I have three boys. Don’t you think we could work out some sort of trade? I mean, is it really fair that I don’t get to shop for anything as adorable as this:

I think not.

Of course, if we’re going to make that deal, I may have to invest in some running shoes.

Well, I never thought I’d have a website. But here it is and I can’t wait to jump right in! And I’m so glad you’re joining me. Since we’re celebrating my debut, this first post is going to be about just having some fun in front of the camera. Here we go – starring my very own three favorite models (HAH! They have more trouble sitting still than I do!)
Truth is, they’re not that crazy about traditional poses. I know, big shocker, right? But it’s ok with me, because I think the best photos are the ones that find the magic in the moment…and not necessarily the ones with the perfect well-behaved say-cheese smiles. (Although those are nice, too. And those of you with children who act like THAT in front of the camera should go ah
ead and call me now!)
So instead of begging them to sit still, lots of times I’ll dare them to do something goofy, or challenge them to do something a little risky, or try to catch them when they’re not looking, or when they’re just having a blast being silly. And there it is – the moment that takes my breath away.
And just when I think I’ll never get a good shot of them all looking at the camera and smiling – at the same time – they give me their full attention, and their biggest grins. And just like that, it all comes together, like a surprise present you never knew you even wanted. And it looks like this:
Thanks for the gift, chickens…Mama loves you. There’s just nobody I have more fun with. (OK, maybe there are a few nobodies, And y’all know who you are!)
Hope everybody enjoyed these “humble beginnings” – stay tuned! There will be more soon!
